Bank of England ‘bomb’ scare: Two ‘suspicious packages’ spark police response at BoE

According to Express

THE Bank of England was placed on lockdown after two “suspicious” packages were sent to the BoE building in central London.

100 metre cordon was placed around the building this afternoon with Lothbury, Bartholomew Lane and Princes’ Street all blocked off. City of London Police tweeted: “Our officers are currently dealing with reports of two suspicious packages sent to the Bank of England. There is currently a 100m cordon around the building. This is affecting Lothbury, Bartholomew Lane and Princes’ Street. Threadneedle Street remains open.”

Around 15 minutes later the cordon was lifted after police deemed the packages “safe”.

City of London police said: “The two packages have been declared safe and the cordons have been lifted. Thank you for your patience.
